Lempok Durian, or Durian Cake, is made from none other than the King of Fruits, Durian! It consists of only two ingredients, Durian as well as sugar and is cooked on fire until it reaches a brown and shiny consistency like that of a dodol. Lempok Durian however, lasts longer and were popular back in the days when Durians were aplenty during the durian season.
A good Lempok Durian is soft but chewy with quite a sweet taste from the combination of the durian’s natural sweetness as well as the sugar that’s infused during the cooking process.
